We have had a productive week!
Friday was especially fun with Gold~White Spirit Day and the Blessing of the Animals.
The adventures of James and the Giant Peach continue to delight the girls. We are working on writing thorough responses to comprehension questions, as well as reading with expression and fluency. We are enjoying Roald Dahl's wonderful, descriptive language, and we continue to work on developing strong vocabularies. In Math, we are finished with our first geometry unit. We will assess this week and move on to big numbers and rounding. In spelling, we focused on three syllable patterns and how to add -ing to words with these patterns. As you are reading with your daughter, notice the -ing words and talk with her about what she has learned. Our goal is not to just spell those ten words correctly, it is to apply these spelling rules consistently in our writing.
