Update

We have had a busy and exciting two weeks as we returned from Spring Break, visited the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, finished our novel, Lily's Crossing, delved into decimals and a new book, and began our rehearsals for the upcoming musical!

Read below for important information regarding the coming weeks, the musical, and conferences.

Friday, April 19 is Parent~Teacher Conference Day

Please CLICK HERE to sign up for a Conference.

I look forward to meeting with each of you.

The next two weeks will be busy with rehearsals for the musical.
Our schedule is below. It would be helpful if your daughters could avoid missing rehearsals for appointments, if possible.

Girls may help "flower" the cross on Tuesday, April 2 by bringing a flower from your garden to decorate a cross on the Green.

On Wednesday, April 3 The entire school will have a picnic lunch together and find out the winner of the Gold/White Cup. The girls should wear their gold or white colors that day, and lunch will be provided for everyone. You may, however, want to send an extra snack that day as lunch will be later than the girls are used to.

Some of you might already be preparing for 4th Grade Graduation? We have had some questions about what the girls should wear. The girls should be dressed up that day - they process in, they will sit on the stage, and they even get up to receive their certificate of completion from the Lower School. Some girls choose to wear white dresses on that day. However, I would say that most do not. The decision is up to you and your daughter.

Weekly Update

Friday was a fantastic day at St. Catherine's! We all enjoyed some quiet time reading with our Middle School "Big Sisters" and then the Cheer Rally was loads of fun. See below for photos.

In addition to our spirited Friday, we read, calculated, and wrote a lot this week, too! We finished reading Number the Stars and followed up with two wonderful picture books that follow the same theme. Ask your daughter how The Butterfly and The Whispering Town tie into Number the Stars and which she liked better. We have finished writing about our African American Women and shared them with each other through a Canva slideshow. We finished up our first unit on fractions, and now we are working on adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators. I am proud of the girls' diligent efforts on fractions!

On Wednesday, March 20 we will enjoy a field trip

to the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, Virginia.

Details will go home this week.
