Weekly Update

First Week

I am thrilled we will be sharing this special year together. During our first week we settled in,  began getting to know each other, and started our routines. Sharing 5 special items from home helped us to know each other better for sure! Check out the photos at the bottom of this post to see your daughter introducing herself to classmates.

Today we enjoyed a fun Spirit Day. The chapel on the Green was a highlight for me...to see our entire school community together, all of those strong, beautiful girls on such a lovely morning was special. Then later in the day we paired up with the 7th graders for the picnic on the Green which ended with a fierce faculty Gold~White tug-of-war. The girls had a ball!

The girls will have many opportunities to lead this year. Raising the flag each morning is just one of those special responsibilities. On Wednesday, the entire Fourth Grade gathered to learn how to raise and lower the flag. The trickiest part is folding the flag, and our Fourthies are already doing a great job. In fact, some of the girls were practicing their flag fold with their picnic blankets and towels. Great job, girls! Here is a tiny peek into this responsibility.

In addition to flag raising, the girls will help open car doors in the morning. This is something the girls love, and they look forward to this privilege! If your daughter would like to participate, she needs to be at school by 7:35 on her assigned days in order to help.

Lunch seems to be going well. We do have lunch at 10:45, so please send a simple, healthy snack with your daughter each day to help her have the energy she needs for learning all afternoon. If your daughter gets lunch at school, you may be interested in checking the menu.

I have attached the link in the list to the right. ↗
